Xiuwen county in Guiyang, capital city of Southwest China's Guizhou province, invested about 15 billion yuan ($2.28 billion) to upgrade its transport network during the 13th Five-Year Plan period (2016-20).

The Xifeng-Qianxi Expressway was completed and opened to traffic, with its total length in Xiuwen county extending 10.88 kilometers.

The Chongqing-Guizhou High-speed Railway was completed and the Xiuwen county station was established along the railway, bringing the county into the era of high-speed rail. Now, it only takes two hours to reach Chongqing from Xiuwen county directly.

The improvement in transport infrastructure has attracted more and more investment in the county, such as the Guiyang Agricultural Products Logistics Park, which opened last year.

During the last five years, the county has built a series of new projects such as Xiuwen Aolin E-commerce City and the Xiuwen Sports Center.

In addition, a number of major projects have settled in the county, including Shizhen College in the Guizhou University of Traditional Chinese Medicine, Guiyang Sports Middle School and Xiuwen Maternal and Child Health Hospital.
