In recent years, Xiuwen county in Guiyang, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province, has been cultivating the market for micro-vacations, or short-distance travel, usually on weekends or during short holidays.

Resorts, guesthouses, and farmhouse restaurants are emerging around the county, with business booming.

This summer, the Shanshui Manor located in Majiaqiao village, Yangmingdong sub-district, had seen many visitors every day. Some came for summer vacation, some participated in team-building activities, and others came for fishing and to taste the local cuisine.

The manor is surrounded by lush green mountains, flowing rivers, and abundant trees. It features a barbecue area, a beer zone, a tea area and more, with a daily capacity of more than 1,000 people.

This year, Longchang sub-district has promoted the integration of agriculture, culture, and tourism. In Shaxi village, located in the sub-district, cultural activities such as a flower viewing festival, water splashing festival, and bonfire party are held every month.

As a result, rural tourism in the village is becoming increasingly popular. This summer, the village has received an average of 1,500 visitors per day, leading to the village being selected as one of the province's key rural tourism villages.
