Savor strawberry season sweetness in Guiyang

Strawberry season is here! These vibrant red gems add a cheerful touch to winter days. With their rich aroma, plump and juicy flesh, and refreshingly sweet taste, strawberries are an irresistible winter treat. Let's enjoy a "berry" sweet time together this season!

At Guizhou Gaoyuan Strawberry Seed Industry Technology Co's farm in Huaxi district, Guiyang, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province, 100 mu (6.67 hectares) of strawberries are waiting to be picked. Visitors can relish the fun of strawberry picking while exploring a variety of strawberry "forms".  

The farm's greenhouses feature racks elevated 1 meter above the ground, allowing rows of strawberries to flourish while ensuring easy access. This advanced setup employs smart, data-driven systems to optimize growing conditions, enhance disease and pest control, and significantly improve yield and quality.   

The Matou and Wanggang strawberry farms in Xinpu Bouyei town, Wudang district, span over 100 mu. After picking strawberries, visitors can tour the nearby Fengyegu Tourist Resort, savor authentic Bouyei cuisine, and enjoy the beautiful scenery. These farms offer a range of strawberry varieties, all grown in greenhouses using organic fertilizers and free from additives or pesticides, guaranteeing fresh, eco-friendly, and truly organic produce.

Tips for picking strawberries

Choose medium-sized and deep red strawberries – they tend to be sweeter and more flavorful.  

Gently pinch the strawberries and cut them off at the stem to prevent damage.  

When washing strawberries, keep the leaves intact and soak them in water for 15 minutes to remove impurities. Then, remove the leaves, soak in salted water for five minutes, rinse with clean water, and enjoy.
