The ethnic customs festival in Xiaoqing town, Xiuwen county, and the recreational and sports activities in Longgang town, Kaiyang county, kicked off on May 1.

The Siyueba Miao Ethnic Customs Festival in Xiaoqing town began with traditional customs like making glutinous rice cakes. During the afternoon's art performance program, village-level cultural teams performed locally flavored songs and dances such as Waiting for the Sister. Guiyang's "Cultural Cavalry" presented the classic puppet dance Jasmine, attracting hundreds of villagers and tourists.

It also included activities such as an interactive Q&A session on the Rural "Five Governance", a lakeside parent-child run, and a tug-of-war competition.

Meanwhile, the basketball invitational tournament in Longgang town ignited the masses' enthusiasm for sports with an average of seven games per day, next to which local cultural teams performed original songs such I Love My Home.

Guiyang enhances the grassroots' ability to independently conduct cultural activities through the three "One Batch" strategy and will continue to conduct activities such as theoretical lectures, intangible cultural heritage preservation, and the promotion of new civilized practices, relying on Guiyang's new era civilization practice centers.
