Xiuwen attains achievements in water control

Xiuwen county's rural water control work has achieved phased results.

Xiuwen has built eight township sewage treatment plants, 56 centralized sewage treatment facilities, and 3,528 household sewage treatment units, completing sewage management and control tasks in 69 villages (66 of which have been reported to the national system), and achieving dynamic clearance of rural black and odorous water bodies across the county.

Xiuwen's rural water control reached a new level in 2025. For rural domestic sewage management and control, five villages in Xiuwen undertook new sewage management tasks, and carried out data-inputting work for the remaining two villages left over from 2024.

For the operation and maintenance of sewage treatment facilities, the decommissioning and destruction of ineffective facilities, and necessary upgrades and renovations, Xiuwen has allocated 1.02 million yuan ($143,200) as rural water control funds.

In exploring the resource utilization of sewage, Xiuwen has launched pilot projects in areas such as Jiuchang village to reuse treated sewage for agricultural irrigation, etc. The county also guided farmers to achieve simple treatment and sewage recycling according to local geographical conditions.
