Damu village, located in Liutun town, Xiuwen county, is a Bouyei ethnic village with a 600-year history.

Its name originates from five ancient ginkgo trees and the historical Datoumu village and Xiaotoumu village. In 2013, three villages merged to form the present Damu village.

According to Li Yinbo, one of the village chronicle's compilers, the village's history dates back to the Ming Dynasty (1368-1644) when the Li family settled and thrived there.

Damu village also holds a significant red history. In 1935, the Red Army passed through, leaving slogans like "The Red Army is the army of the poor". The Red Army Cultural Square now serves as a revolutionary education base.

Bouyei villagers settle there, preserving traditional architectural styles and festival customs. Since 2015, the village has undergone modernization and developed diverse industries and rural tourism. Relying on its red culture and natural landscapes, Damu village has become a tourist destination.

The village has received numerous titles, such as the Chinese Ethnic Characteristic Village, telling its ancient and modern stories through its unique charm.
