Laos-China economy and trade exchange held in Vientiane

On June 25, a delegation from Guiyang, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province, hosted the Laos (Vientiane)-China (Guiyang) Economy and Trade Exchange Conference in Vientiane.

The delegation highlighted Guiyang's recent progress in advancing high-level opening-up and proposed deepening cross-border corridor cooperation, expanding trade and investment, and strengthening agricultural industry partnerships.

The deputy mayor of Vientiane expressed hopes for closer collaboration with Guiyang to explore new trade opportunities and promote shared economic and social development. The vice-president of the Lao National Chamber of Commerce and Industry reaffirmed the chamber's role as a bridge and service provider in fostering cooperation between Laos and Guiyang.

The conference saw the signing of agreements on seven procurement projects and two strategic cooperation in trade and tourism, totaling 164 million yuan. A cross-border trucking ceremony was also held for the Guiyang-Vientiane route.

The event featured two exhibitions: "Guizhou Products Go Global" and the Guiyang urban image showcase, displaying over 100 high-quality products made in Guiyang, including industrial goods, intangible cultural heritage crafts, and specialty eco-friendly foods.
