Now is the peak season for kiwifruit sales in Xiuwen county. Many kiwifruit enterprises, cooperatives, and farmers are using new technologies and equipment, such as online e-commerce platforms and sorting lines, to boost kiwifruit production and sales, driving increased sales in both domestic and international markets.

The kiwi planting area in Putuo village, Xiuwen covers nearly 300 mu (20 hectares), yielding an average of over 2,000 kilograms per mu this year. In previous years, most kiwi fruits were sold by farmers on the streets or at low prices to fruit merchants. This year, many villagers have opened e-commerce stores and live-streamed their own sales of Xiuwen kiwifruit, which not only saves time and effort, but also helps them sell the fruit at better prices.
At the production workshop of Guizhou Roche Fruit Development Co, located in Pingshan village, Xiuwen county, multiple 15-meter refrigerated trailers transport Xiuwen kiwifruit daily. The facility features eight refrigerated storage rooms and a 22 m intelligent kiwi sorting line, allowing for efficient sorting and packaging of fruits by weight. Currently, kiwifruit from numerous bases in the surrounding area is brought here for sorting and packaging before being shipped to Central Asia, Europe, and other destinations.
After more than 30 years of development, Xiuwen's kiwifruit industry has reached a planting area of 167,000 mu, ranking among the top three in China and first in Guizhou province. It has received several national certifications, been listed among the country's famous and excellent new agricultural products, and boasts a total brand value of 3.08 billion yuan ($432.1 million).
