Xiuwen promotes winter rapeseed industry

In early winter, the farmers in Dubao village, Xiuwen county, are busy carrying out winter rapeseed planting work, sowing seeds of hope for a bountiful harvest next year.

In recent years, Xiuwen county has attached great importance to winter agricultural production, guiding farmers to adjust the agricultural industry structure and promoting winter rapeseed planting. Through government guidance, policy support, and technical services, the planting area of rapeseed in the county has been expanding year by year. As of now, Xiuwen has completed 48,073 mu (3,205 hectares) of rapeseed planting this year, including 23,472 mu of direct planting and 24,601 mu of seedling transplanting.

The value of growing winter rapeseeds goes beyond merely "increasing income in one season". It not only revitalizes idle land resources in winter and improves the index of multiple cropping of arable land and output efficiency, but also turns the blooming rapeseed flowers the following spring into a natural tourist attraction, boosting rural tourism and integrating the agriculture and tourism industries.

To further unleash the value of the rapeseed industry, Xiuwen has explored the development model of "agriculture + tourism", with rapeseed flower viewing as the theme, holding rapeseed flower festivals and other activities, attracting many tourists for sightseeing, driving the development of rural tourism, catering, accommodation and other service industries, and further expanding the channels for farmers to increase income.

With the continuous expansion of the rapeseed cultivation area and the improvement of the industrial chain, the winter rapeseed industry in Xiuwen has a bright future.
