Flowers boost economic growth in Xiuwen

The 900 mu (60 hectares) of pear orchards in Xiangbahu village, Xiuwen county, have now burst into full bloom, unfolding a poetic picture among the green hills.

Xiangbahu village has transformed the landscape and industrial advantages of its pear orchards into development and income-boosting advantages, turning pears into "fruits of fortune" for rural vitalization, benefiting residents and ensuring long-term income growth.

The output value of the pear industry in Xiangbahu village exceeded 8.1 million yuan ($1.17 million) in 2025, driving stable income growth for more than 50 households in the surrounding areas and helping boost tourist arrivals at Tonggu Mountain by 20 percent.

Focusing on the standardized, high-quality, and modernized development of the pear industry, the village has launched a pear orchard upgrading project this year with a total investment of 4 million yuan.

Key efforts will be made in projects such as the green prevention and control system, improved infrastructure, and supporting sightseeing facilities, to promote the full transformation of traditional pear orchards into high-efficiency ecological demonstration parks.

Relying on the stunning scenery of its local pear blossoms, the village has built viewing walkways and flower-viewing photo spots. It has developed new integrated agriculture-tourism business forms such as flower sightseeing, farming experiences, and leisurely fruit picking, attracting many tourists to visit in spring. This has driven the vigorous development of surrounding industries including farm catering and the sale of agricultural specialties.

The village will continue to deepen the renovation and upgrading of its pear orchards, strengthen its characteristic brand of pears, and enrich integrated agriculture-tourism business forms, striving to depict a new picture of a harmonious and beautiful countryside.
