A professional kiwifruit pollen production line introduced by Xiuwen has been put into operation, injecting strong momentum into the quality upgrading of the local kiwifruit industry.
The kiwifruit pollen extraction equipment was fully installed and commissioned by the end of April with trial production starting on May 2. It is capable of processing 500 kilograms of fresh kiwifruit flowers every hour.

Xiuwen is a core kiwifruit planting area in Guizhou province. Pollen required for local kiwifruit cultivation has long relied on procurement from other provinces. To shore up weaknesses in the full industrial chain support system, Xiuwen has built a kiwifruit male flower planting base covering more than 160 mu (10.67 hectares) and established a closed-loop local pollen production system.
The equipment uses high-quality male flowers as raw materials. Every kilogram can yield 6 to 8 grams of pollen, with output capacity exceeding the industry average. The entire production process is strictly controlled under standardized procedures to preserve pollen viability and purity to the maximum extent.
"Xiuwen requires nearly 300 to 400 kg of kiwifruit pollen every year," said Chen Zhongying, a county representative. "Previously, the market price stood at 12 to 16 yuan ($1.78–2.38) per gram. Now that we have achieved large-scale local production, we can bring down pollen prices and deliver benefits to the growers."
