Provincial golf competition kicks off in Xiuwen

The golf competition of the 12th Guizhou Provincial Games kicked off on June 10 in Xiuwen county.

The first round of simultaneous grouped tee‑offs over nine holes saw participation from seven men's teams and four women's teams.

In the team events, the Guiyang women's team took first place with a total score of 247 strokes, finishing 11 strokes ahead of the runner‑up Tongren team. The Guiyang men's team posted 233 strokes and edged out the representative team of Guizhou Provincial Federation of Industry and Commerce by 2 strokes to claim the top spot in the men's team standings.

The competition is an important platform for popularizing golf, advancing the national fitness strategy, and driving high‑quality sports development across Guizhou.

Two more rounds of competition lie ahead, with participating teams drawing lessons from the opening round, adjusting their competitive form, and vying for honors across all categories.
