Xiuwen promotes new industrialization

Xiuwen county has accelerated the development of new quality productive forces over the past five years, advancing the pace of industrial transformation.

Through revamping intelligent production lines and upgrading energy-saving processes, traditional industries have gained fresh vitality. Major projects such as phase III of Guizhou Tyre Co and phase II of Guizhou Guijiu have been completed. Local brands of dairy products, Chinese medicines, and deep-processed kiwifruit products have earned growing recognition.

The county has expanded its presence in emerging industries and scaled up its clean energy sector, forming a diversified energy mix featuring hydropower, wind power, solar PV, and energy storage.

Meanwhile, construction has kicked off for wind farms in Gaocang, Shuangbao, and Shiziyao. To date, eight wind turbine generators at the Gaocang wind power project have been put into operation to supply green power, while the remaining six are scheduled for grid connection by the end of this year.

The Guiyang pumped storage hydropower plant located in Gubu town broke ground in 2023. This ranks as Guizhou province's first approved pumped storage project and a key energy initiative under Guizhou's 14th Five-Year Plan (2021-25). The project has an installed capacity of 1,500 MW and is now advancing steadily.

Xiuwen is forging ahead with the digital transformation of small and medium-sized enterprises. All industrial enterprises above designated size in the county have reached level 1 or higher in terms of their digital transformation, and two cases have been selected as provincial outstanding examples of this. The county is now home to 4 national-level and 13 provincial-level green manufacturing enterprises.

Xiuwen will accelerate new industrialization, advance the high-end, smart, and green development of its manufacturing sector, and build a competitive modern industrial system, writing a new chapter in its contribution to China's modernization.
